“Ervin J. Farr, 79, of 40 Fenderson St. Ext, Painted Post died late Monday afternoon in Corning Hospital where he had been a patient since Saturday, his death followed an extended illness. Born Oct. 13 1891 in Wellsboro PA. he was the son of Andrew J. and Margaret Jane Brown Farr. He was married to Nora Ann Miller, June 23 1915 in Lawrenceville. A life time resident of the Corning area, Mr. Farr was a retired machinist for Ingersoll Rand CO. he had a total of 56 years of active and retired service. He was a member of the Painted Post Odd Fellows Lodge and received his 50-year pin last year from the lodge. Mr. Farr was also a member of Ingersoll Rand Company Service Association. His is Survived by his wife, Nora Ann; two daughters, Mrs. Clyde (Irene) Livermore of FT. Lauderdale FL. and Mrs. Warren (Barbara) Jessep of Santa Clara Calif., two sons, Archie E. of Corapolis PA. and Arlie E. of Bath. three brothers, Rex and Robert of Lawrenceville, PA. and Lowell of Syracuse; a sister, Mrs. Ruth Mitchell of Painted Post; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Phillips Funeral Home in Painted Post, Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. John  Thomson, pastor of the Painted Post Presbyterian Church officiating. Committal service will be held in the funeral home following funeral services. Burial will be made in Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post. The Ingersoll Rand Service Associaton memorial service will be Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The Painted Post IOOF service will be Thursday at 8 p.m. in the funeral home.”
