    Killed in Action. He was with his Company in action at Festubert on May 22nd, 1915, when about 11 A.M. the trench they occupied was subjected to a very severe bombardment and Captain McMeans was hit by a piece of a large enemy shell, which passed through his head causing instantaneous death.
