Killed in a logging accident between 1901-1910. His name has been Ephan Hanes on some documents. Ephraim was on th 1900 US Census in Bath County, Kentucky and his wife Mary, was listed as a widow on the 1910 Crandon, Forest, Wisconsin Census.

Ephraim and Mary had 9 children. Robert, Albert, John, James, Garfield, William, Martha, Sarah Alice & Ike Hanes. According to a diary that one of John Hanes grandchildren wrote about Ephraim was killed in a logging accident, around 1909 maybe somewhere in Wisconsin.
