1918 - Emma was iving in Prospect Adelaide SA when Matilda (her sister) died.

Emma had visited Broken Hill with her two sisters. Emma was only 20 yet was a teacher when she married James SANDERCOCK who was a mining engineer who went down the mine. His lungs became infected so he worked later on "above ground" plant and engines. James Henry and Emma Sophia were living in Broken Hill for the first three of their children. Emma and James moved to Kadina area where they had 3 of their 8 children.

Emma was still teaching under privileged children at age seventy, during the war years.
