From George Sweeny: Embree lived in Edwardsville, Illinois and worked at American Radiator during his early years. He stayed with his brother, Bob. He then moved to Page City, Kansas. He and Clara stayed with "Grandma" Pierce for a time after they were married.

He worked at the light plant in Stratton for eighteen years. They lived in McCook in the early 1940's, where he worked at the slaughterhouse. They moved to Lebanon, Oregon in 1942, living at 709 E. Sherman Street.

Esther - "The folks stayed with us a couple of days before they moved to Oregon. The house was too small for all of us, so the kids slept outside. Dean’s eyes were swollen shut the next morning from the mosquitos. Mosquitos always did that to him."

Embree was an electrician at the lumber mill in Oregon.

1957 Article in Newspaper: Embree C. Woods and Clara E. Clifford (Cliffton) was married in Clay Center, Nebraska, April 8, 1912, and have been happily married ever since. They came to Lebanon, Oregon, in 1942 and then to Estacada in 1953, where they like it very much. They have nine children living as follows: Ralph of Estacada, Arthur of Portland, Stewart of Salem, Harold of Salem, Esther Williamson of Stratton, Nebr., Naomi Herman of Hillsboro, Ill., and Norma Caywood, Ina Hasenyager and Lucille Spencer of Lebanon, and the nine sons and daughters have responded by giving Dad and Mother Woods 28 grandchildren and 56 great grandchildren. They have recently purchased the former Meade-Sinclair home on Pierce St, Estacada, Oregon which they figure all the family could be entertained in at one time. One Sunday, Feb. 10, they opened up their home not only to what relatives could get here but also to neighbors and friends who would care to call and see for themselves how a 45-year married couple get along and to receive an invitation to come five years hence when their golden wedding day comes around.
