    Death of E. F. Smith

After an extended illness of several weeks, E. F. Smith passed on to his greater reward at his home near Joy, Jan. 28, 1932. With his passing goes one of our oldest pioneer citizens. He was a farmer and had lived around Davis for a number of years. He was a man of high standards and has many friends and relatives who mourn his departure.

Mr. Smith was born in the year of 1851 in Kentucky. He was married to Miss Ellen Burris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Burris, Nov. 11, 1873. To this union were born ten children, six of whom are now living. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. E. F. Smith, Davis; Fred Smith, Randlett, Okla; Joe Smith, Henrietta, Tex.; Frank Smith, Lewis, Colo.; Dock Smith, Davis; Mrs. J. K. Stack, Davis; D. S. Smith, Clarendon, Tex.

There are fourteen grandchildren and four great-grand children.

He became a member of the Christian church at the age of 47 years. He has led a devoted life, was also a devoted husband and father. He was very dear to all those who knew him.

He was laid to rest in Greenhill cemetery, Jan. 29, 1932 at 4:00 o'clock, with Rev. J. H. Stevens, of Davis, officiating.

    Card of Thanks

We wish to express our appreciation and many thanks to all those kind friends and neighbors who were so good to us during the illness and death of our dear husband and father. May God bless you each and every one is our prayer.

    Mrs. E. F. Smith
