From the reminiscence of Samuel Chessman [b. 1812] on page 100 of Genealogy of the Chesman Family: In connection with the foregoing reminiscence I think it proper to make mention of the rest of my father's family. My sister Elvira, as recorded in the family record, married Jonathan M. Jackman, son of Samuel Stillman Jackman of the state of New Hampshire. After trying various places in New Hampshire and Massachusetts they located in Nashua, N.H. where they resided for many years; she died in 1884 aged 79 years, he died in 1885 aged 87 years. Their family of nine children, seven of which are now living (Sept. 1892) are located as follows: Two sons in Nashua, N.H., one son in Wilmington, Delaware, two sons in Elgin, Ill., one daughter in Boston, and daughter in Fitchburg, Mass. They are all married and occupy prominent positions in society.
