    Eloise M. Thomas, 91, died Friday, Dec. 30 at Mercy Hospital. She had lived in the Parkview Apartments in Milton and for the last two years had resided in Rock Haven.

    Miss Thomas was born July 12, 1897 in Albion, the daughter of Harry E. and Edna Whitford Thomas. The family moved to Milton in 1920, the year she graduated from Milton College. She taught at Leyden Community High School in Franklin Park, Ill. for 20 years and for six years in Hebron, Ill., before retiring from high school teaching. She was an instructor in the English department at Milton College from 1949 to 1951 and rejoined the faculty as an instructor of English and assistant to the librarian in 1955. She retired in 1963. She was a member of the Albion and Milton Historical Societies and the Milton Seventh Day Baptist Church.

    Miss Thomas is survived by her brother-in-law Franklin E. Walsh of Lake Geneva and 11 cousins, including Beulah B. Kaase of Milton. She was preceded in death by her only sister Eunice Walsh.

    The body is to be cremated and Memorial Services will be held later in the spring. The ashes will be buried in Milton Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Seventh Day Baptist Church, Milton. Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton handled the arrangements.
