Obituary [source unknown]:
ELMOS NICHOLAS ROSS was born in Knox County Ohio March 31, 1839 and departed this life Nov 18 1917 aged 78 years 7 months and 17 days. He as married to Mary Catherine Barr Nov, 29 1868. who passed to her reward, March 31 1882. He served 3 yrs in the Civil War in Company F. 125th Regiment Vol. from Ohio. He leaves 4 sons,two having proceeded him to the Great Beyond, twelve grandchildren, one brother and one sister besides a boat of relatives and friends who mourn their loss.
Present during the battles of Chickamauga, Mission Ridge, Dandridge, Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca.
