This is the Last Will and Testament of me Elizabeth Mary May of Royal hill Greenwich in the county of Kent widow In the first place I direct all my just debts funeral and Testamentary expenses and the charges of proving this my will to be fully paid and satisfied as soon a conveniently can be after my decease. I give devise and bequeath unto my trustees and executors hereafter named their executors administrators and assigns all and every my money in the Government stocks or funds Great Britain upon ____ to make sale thereof and pay my Grandson Robert May now or lately residing in Sweden and carrying on business there but now _________ removing into the Island of Jersey the sum of three hundred pounds sterling for his own absolute use and benefit and upon _____ trust to pay unto Elizabeth May the reputed daughter of my son George Cook May also now or lately residing in Sweden but now removed or removing into the Island of Jersey the like sum of three hundred pounds sterling for her own absolute use and benefit and upon trust to pay unto Harriett the wife of my said Son the said George Cook May the sum of one hundred pounds sterling for her own absolute use and benefit and I also give unto the said Harriet May all such of my wearing apparel as she may choose to take the said sum of one hundred pounds together with such wearing apparel as she may select to be paid and given to her for her own sole use and benefit free from the control or engagements of her present or any future husband and her receipt alone I declare to be sufficient discharge for the same and I further direct my said trustees to pay unto my brother Thomas Willson of Brighton and to ffanny Willson of Queen? Street ___oak _________ and to Elizabeth Allen of Stockwell Street Greenwich aforesaid and to Charlotte Allen of Stockwell Street Greenwich aforesaid and the Mary Ann Allen also of Stockwell Street Greenwich aforesaid the sum of ten pounds sterling each and unto Blacknell Carter of East Street in Greenwich aforesaid the sum of nineteen pounds nineteen shillings sterling and I further ____ ____ each of my said trustees and executors to _____ to and for their own use and benefit as a testimony of my respect for them the sum of ten pounds sterling for a ring all of which legacies I declare it to be my wish should paid within three calender months after my decease and I further direct my said trustees and executors to lay out the sum of three hundred pounds sterling in or upon real or Government securities in England for the purchase of an annuity for my true and faithful Servant Amelia Smith to be paid to her in equal quarterly payments during her life to and for her sole and separate use and benefit whether married or single free from the control debts or engagements of any husband she may marry and the receipt and receipts of my said Servant shall alone be a good discharge and good discharges for whatsoever money shall be paid to her and I hereby declare it to be my express will and desire that my Servant the said Amelia Smith shall not be at liberty to sell or part with or in any manner incumber all or any part of the said income or annuity for the purpose of raising money thereon or otherwise of anticipating such income or annuity which she shall be entitled unto under and by virtue of this my Will as aforesaid and in any or eighter of such cases I direct my said Trustees or the survivor of them or the heirs executors or administrators of such survivor and all other the pr___ or future trustees or trustee of this my Will to stand possessed of such annual income or annuity as the same shall become due or payable upon trust to lay out and expend the same for the use and benefit of my said Servant in such way or manner as to my said Trustees and Trustee shall appear most beneficial and then? without in any manner or consulting or advising with my Servant the said Amelia Smith or being in any manner answerable or accountable to her for the same I also give and bequeath unto my Servant the said Amelia Smith all the furniture in the co__ room in my house in which she sleeps together with bed and bedding sheets blankets pillows bolster and Co___pane? also all such of my wearing apparel as my daughter the said Harriott May shall not think proper to take together with a set of china cups and saucers and also such other articles of furniture as shall be sufficient to furnish a Sitting room for her suitable and proper for her station in life And as to all other my household furniture plate linen china books and wearing apparel of and all other my Estate and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever the same may be or consist of I give and bequeath the same unto my son the said George Cook May his heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely and I do hereby declare that the receipt or receipts of my said trustees shall be good and valid discharges for all sum and sums of money in ____tioned in such receipt and receipts and which the__ shall receive under and by virtue of any of the trusts of this my Will and that it shall be incumbent on any purchaser or purchasers of the said trust Estate or any part there of or other person or persons to whom such receipt or receipts shall be given to _ the application or be liable for the nonapplication of the money therein expressed to be received provided always and I do hereby declare that my said trustees and each of them and any future trustee or trustees of this my Will their and each of their heirs executors or administrators shall be charged and chargeable respectively for such monies only as they shall respectively actually receive by virtue of the trusts hereby reposed in them and that neither of them shall be answerable or accountable for the acts deeds neglect defaults of the other of them but each of them only for his own acts deeds neglects and defaults in or for any involuntary loss which may happen to the trust funds and premises unless the same shall happen by or through his or their own wilful neglect or default and I hereby direct that they my said trustees And each of them shall any may by and out of such monies as shall come to their respective hands by virtue of the trusts herein before contained retain to and reimburse themselves and himself and also pay and allow to his Cotrustee all costs charges and expenses which they or other of them shall or may sustain expend or disburse in the execution of the aforesaid trust or in relation there to and lastly hereby revoking all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made I declare this to be my last Will and Testament and appoint my said son George Cook May and Richard Cattarns of Greenwich aforesaid Solicitor Executors and Trustees hereof In witness whereof I the said Testatrix to the preceding sheets hereof have set my hand and to this third and last sheet have set my hand and seal this thirtieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine - E.
