    ... After his marriage, Nathaniel White moved to Westford, Vt., and during the war of 1812 drew wood and provisions across Lack Champlain for the army, and received a land warrant in payment for the work. While living there he lost four children, with scarlet fever, within one month. He returned to Massachusetts, living in Phillipston, New Salem, Petersham and Athol, until 1833, when he settled in Plainsfield, Mass. He d. June 12, 1857, aged 82. His wife Elizabeth, d. Mar. 8, 1864, aged 85.
