Jane Kenning of Ipswich, in her will dated 14 Feb 1653/4, appointed “my two sisters Elizabeth Wilson and Margery Knowlton” as executrixes. Bequests include “John Knowlton” and “the rest of my sisters children ten pounds a peece Elisabeth Knowlton Elisabth Wilson Seaborne Wilson & Abraham Knowlton, And to my brother Wilsons sone Thomas, three pounds & the rest for my mothers use during her life.” It is not known who Jane Kenning was, and the “sister” and “brother” references were not always specific in the 17th century.[2]

The will of John Knowlton, dated 29 Nov 1653, mentions “brother Wilson” and “brother Thomas Knowlton.” [2]
