Elizabeth Woods (Betty) Taylor Rainey (1858-1952) is buried in the Red House Presbyterian Church cemetery (Semora, Caswell County, North Carolina). Marking her grave is the simplest obelisk in the cemetery, standing 4.5-feet tall, and having a square shaft and pointed top. Inscribed on the rear of the shaft are the following words:

THE DAY IS DONE

And the night shall be filled with music. And the cares that infest the day Shall fold their tents like the Arabs, And as silently steal away
