Facts and Events
Name Elizabeth Jeeves
Gender Female
Christening[1] 4 Dec 1734 Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England
Burial[2] 24 Jun 1772 Hitchin, Hertfordshire, England

Elizabeth Jeeves was baptised on 4th December 1734 at Hitchin in Hertfordshire, daughter of Ann Jeeves, formerly Phipps, and her husband Michael Jeeves, a baker.

Elizabeth never married and appears to have stayed living with her father in Hitchin until his death. Michael's will, which was written in January 1771, does not refer to Elizabeth's mother, suggesting she had already died. Michael's will left Elizabeth his house and bakehouse in Hitchin; he said he had already settled them upon her some time earlier, suggesting she acted as owner even while he was still alive. She was also to receive the residue of his estate after various bequests to her sister Ann's family.

However, Elizabeth only outlived her father by a couple of months. He was buried on 19th April 1772. Elizabeth and her father's other executor, Robert Ralphs, proved his will on 27th April 1772. Less than two months later Elizabeth died, being buried at Hitchin on 24th June 1772. She was 37 years old.
