    Elizabeth Chipman3 (Hope2 Howland, John1 was born in Plymouth, Mass., 24 June 1648 and baptized 18 August 1650, the daughter of John and Hope (Howland) Chipman. Elizabeth died after 24 January 1711/12, the date her husband named her in his will.

    The editor of Source:Mayflower Descendant, George E. Bowman, on p. 15:25, states that Dr. Nathaniel Shurtleff mistakenly assumed the first year of records was 1647 because it is badly worn, when comparison to known deaths and other general considerations shows it was 1648.
