An article in the May 14, 1844 Booneville Register reads, " Burklow, Mrs. Eliza, consort of Samuel V.Died at St. Charles in her 27th year. 1844. Leaving husband and 3 children. Dau. of the late John Ferry and only sister of Gen. B. Emmons Ferry of Boonville. This obituary was written by Eliza's brother Gen. Ferry who was editor of the paper.
