1850: Living with Williamson Beaty’s family, age 38, farmer in E. Bethlehem Twp, Washington Co, PA. Eliza had been married and widowed by that time (widowed by 1840?)

1860 census shows her age as 49, putting birth year 1811 or so. Living next to Thomas Phelps, and with Thomas’s in-laws -- Ann and Michael Crowley (cozy).

Judy Smith has an 1819 tax record for Brownsville, Fayette Co, Pennsylvania, showing an Eliza Phelps.

The origin of the middle name “Hiar” is very curious. I have not found any family by that name connected with this family to cause its use as a middle name. For now, I will carry an homophone for this name, Hyer, as a possible alternative. How it connects to this family is anyone’s guess at this point.
