- ↑ It is assumed that the Elisabeth RUNCHEMAN marrying Robert PATERSON, 1768, in Maxton, with the full approval of her father and family, is the sister of my x greats grandmother Margaret RUNCHAMAN who herself married in Maxton in 1771.
Although the Maxton OPRs are not effusive with detail, they do exist for the period and do not have any RUNCIMAN births obvious.
Wonder if Robert was considered a 'great catch', or John & famiy wanted rid of Elisabeth?
