Vol.2,pg.642-643 note in record says, Hist.Springfield Man.pg371 "The Harvard lottery, which was running in 1807, was well patronized in Springfield. One of the men of Springfield who offered Harvard College lottery tickets was Landlord Eleazar Williams. Williams is remembered as the man who divided his time and peculiar genius impartially between the nipple in his bosom and the mixing of toddies, for which he was famous in these parts." |
