  2. Mrs. Fred V. Becker, 58, of Route 1, Elkhart Lake, died early Sunday at her farm home in Town Rhine, four miles northeast of Elkhart Lake, after a lingering illness. She had been bed-ridden for the past six years. Nee Eleanor Schoon, she was born Sept. 21, 1896, at Milwaukee, a daughter of the late Herman and Gertrude Schoon. She was married to Fred Becker at Milwaukee on Aug. 28, 1917. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Milwaukee until 1932 when they moved to the present homestead farm in the town of Rhine. Mrs. Becker was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church at Elkhart Lake and the Christian Mothers’ Society of the parish. Only immediate survivors are her husband and a sister, Mrs. William Knetzger, of Milwaukee. In addition to her parents, two sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Meiselwitz Funeral home, Kiel, and at 10 a.m. at St. George’s Church at Elkhart Lake. The Rev. J. H. Gable, pastor, will be the celebrant of the requiem high mass. Burial will be in Ss. Peter and Paul cemetery at Kiel. The body will lie in state at the funeral home after noon Tuesday. Parishoners of St. George’s Church will hold a vigil at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Father Gable will lead the rosary.
