Newspaper Unknown Died, at her home four miles west of Kingston, January 13, 1904, Mrs. Eleanor Fort Bassett, aged 73 years, 7 months and 23 days. She was born in Albany county, New York. When a child, she moved with her parents, Maggie and Eldort Fort, to Ohio in 1838. She was married to S.M. Bassett February 16, 1850; to this union nine children were born eight living and one preceding her to the great beyond. She was the grandmother of 30 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She died of complication of diseases. She had been an invalid for the past 21 years. Mrs. Bassett was loved by those who knew her and was baptized in the Presbyterian faith and had lived an ideal life. She was a devoted wife and mother and leaves to mourn her loss an aged husband and children and a large circle of relatives and friends. A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is still, A place is vacant in our home Which never can be filled. Newspaper Unknown DIED: Wednesday, the 13, at her late home 3 miles west of Kingston, after one week's illness, Eleanor, wife of S.M. Bassett, and sister of Mrs. A.W. Bishop and Mrs. Jacob Clute, of this city and Daniel Fort, a Mirabile merchant. Deceased was past 70 years, and for the last twenty-one years had been a resident of Mirabile twp. She was a native of Ohio, where she was married to Mr. Bassett in 1850. Of this union seven children were born, and are: Fort and Garrett Bassett, Mrs. Platt of Kansas City, Mrs. L.H. Thompson of this city, Mrs. Dwight Dunn of Hamilton, Mrs. Ad Karr of Starbuck, Wash., and Mrs. Hattie Strope of Mirabile. The funeral took place at 11 a.m. yesterday, conducted by Rev. Blayney; interment at Mirabile.
