May the Lord bless you and keep you safe in His arms both now and forever more. We love you! Lowell & Nancy, Ken, Michael, Nicole, David, Daniel & Micah and all their individual family members {geni:comment} Eleanor Florence LeFebvre died in the early morning hours of Friday, November 2, 2007. She had lived a long and full life, beloved by her family, cherished by her friends, and kept through both life and death in the grace of her Lord. Eleanor was born to Walter and Edith (Carlson) Carter in Grantsburg, Wis., on June 19, 1915. She was the second of four children (her siblings being Lawrence, Kenneth, and Alice Muro). After her family moved to Waukegan, Ill., Eleanor attended the Waukegan High School where she first became acquainted with Lowell Leon LeFebvre, then an upperclassman in the same school. Eleanor liked to recall how, one afternoon while walking home from school with an armload of books, Lowell drove past in his car and stopped to offer her a ride. Thus, their friendship began and, on September 20, 1934, Lowell and Eleanor were married. They settled in Waukegan, Ill. – where they had three children: Loreda Lee, Lowell Leon, Jr., and Len Lawrence – and later moved to Zion, Ill. Lowell worked at the Johns Manville asbestos pipe plant where, through the witness of a co-worker named Ron Bales, he and Eleanor came to faith in Christ on February 6, 1944. Lowell and Eleanor retired to Springdale, Ark., in 1977. Lowell died in Springdale on July 4, 1980. In the following years, Eleanor moved several times between Arkansas and Illinois, eventually settling back in Springdale where she lived out the remainder of her years in relative health and independence. In the last six months of her life, Eleanor required nursing care and was eventually settled near family at the Hillcrest Nursing Center in Blackwell, Okla. It was there that she died, peacefully, at the age of 92. Eleanor is survived by her brother, Kenneth Carter of Santa Barbara, Calif.; by her three children, Loreda Bogue of Blue Island, Ill., Lowell LeFebvre, Jr., of Ponca City, Okla., and Len LeFebvre of Summerlin, Nev.; by ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Eleanor’s ten grandchildren: Grant Bogue (Sarasota, Fla.), and Kimberlee (Bogue) Tibstra (Blue Island, Ill.), children of Loreda (and Don) Bogue; Kenneth LeFebvre (Peninsula, Oh.), Michael LeFebvre (Indianapolis, Ind.), Nicole Dippong (Berea, Oh.), David A. LeFebvre (S. Euclid, Oh.), Daniel LeFebvre (Oklahoma City, Okla.), and Micah LeFebvre (Ponca City, Okla.), children of Lowell (and Nancy Griggs) LeFebvre; Roth (“Craig”) LeFebvre (St. Louis, Mo.) and Brad LeFebvre (Chesterfield, Mo.), children of Len (and Portia Smith) LeFebvre. Eleanor’s ten great-grandchildren: Zechariah and Amanda Tibstra, children of Kimberlee (and Jim) Tibstra; Ethan and Joshua LeFebvre, children of Kenneth (and Wendee Bussey) LeFebvre; Rachel, Andrew, James, and David L. LeFebvre, children of Michael (and Heather Winslow) LeFebvre; Kyleigh LeFebvre, daughter of Daniel LeFebvre (and Melissa Ratliff); Stella Dippong, daughter of Nicole (and Joseph) Dippong. One of Eleanor’s favorite passages in the Bible was John chapter 14, where these words of Jesus are recorded: “In my Father’s house are many rooms…. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” Ever since her husband read her this passage just prior to his own death 27 years ago, Eleanor has taken great comfort in this promise of her Savior. She has now entered that promised rest. Eleanor’s remains were buried on Monday, November 5, in a grave adjoining her husband in the Bluff Cemetery in Springdale, Ark. References
