Harvard 1865-74; Headmaster English High School, Boston, 1874-80; Superintendent, Public Schools, Boston 1880-1904; Now retired. Member, Board of Overseers, Harvard 1877-1906, except 1890-1. Fellow, American Academy Arts & Sciences. Member NEA, Mass. Hist. Society. Unitarian. Author, numerous books on Arithmetic, Algebra, Trigonometry, Math. Address: New Bedford Mass.
