OBITUARY: BYU film 1298676 Item 1

Near Imlaystown, on Monday evening, ?th inst., by drowning, EDWARD, the youngest son of Thomas T. and Susah R. Tunis, in the eighteenth year of his life.
We regret to learn the untimely death by drowning of Mr. Edward Tunis, (brother of Charles S Tunis, formerly editor of the Monmouth Inquierer,) near Imlaystown, in this County, on Monday evening last. He was bathing with a party of young men and was the only one, we understand, among them who could not swim. He was holding fast to a small boat and with it pushed out into the stream. The boat leaking badly it quickly, filled and sank, taking him down with it. He was only a few feet from the shore, but his comrades were unable ot save him, though one of them, named Jacob Hartshorn, made great efforts to do so, and narrowly escaped drowning also. The body was not recovered until Tuesday morning. The deceased was a favorite with all who knew him, and his sad death has cast a gloom over the community. His talents and acquirements pointed out to him bright career, had he lived to enjoy it.
