Edward James Ragan was born on December 31st, 1907 at Eagleville Missouri and he was the son of James and Olive Ragan. He married Flossie Marie Black in Beaver County OK on December 8th 1934 and they made their home there. Sometime just prior to 1940 they moved to Laverne OK in Harper County.

Flossie and Ed owned and operated their own cafe while they lived in Laverne. Ed was also a farmer and later worked at Western State Mental Hospital in Fort Supply OK and they later moved to Ft Supply in 1961.

He died on May 8th 1980 of a heart attack at home. He was 72 yrs old.

He is survived by three sons, Don Ragan and wife Margaret of Rosston OK; Delvin Ragan and wife Rae of Granite OK; Dick and wife Pam of Woodward OK; seven daughters, Cleota Price and husband Sonny of Watonga OK; Pat Stewart of Ft Supply; Bonnie Wilson and husband Terry of Medford OK; Loeta Hunter and husband Don of Ft Supply ; Joyce Mitch of Ft Supply; Mona Culwell and husband Charles of Woodward OK and Mickie of Tulsa OK

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Billie Ray Ragan; one daughter Beulah Marie Ragan; three grandchildren, Gary Don Ragan, Julie Jo Stewart, and Michael Don Ragan.

His burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward OK. Lot B Space 2 Block 11
