Edward Parsons was baptised on 10th April 1757 at Kimpton in Hertfordshire, son of John and Ann Parsons. He was the fourth of seven children baptised to the couple at Kimpton between 1749 and 1766. Edward has yet to be traced after his baptism. There is a fair chance that he was the Edward Parsons who married Martha Brown in the neighbouring parish of St Paul's Walden in 1780, but this is not certain.
