                                           E.J. FLOOD DIES
                                         Former Policeman
    Services for Edward J. Flood of 212 Putman St., a former member of the

Syarcuse Police Department, who died yesterday in the Veterans Administration Hospital here, will be held at 8:30 A.M. Monday in the Edward F. Gaynor Funeral Home.

    A Mass will be celebrated in Most Holy Rosary Church at 9 A.M. Burial will be

in St. Agnes Cemetery.

    Mr. Flood was appointed to the polie force January 8, 1923. For many years

he was on foot patrol and traffic duty in the downtown area. He retired July 21, 1949, and was reinstated July 20, 1950. His last assignment was as acting detective.

    Mr. Flood was a member of the American Legion, the Holy Name Society of

Most Holy Rosary Church and the Police Benevolent Association. He served in the Navy in World War I.

    A brother-in-law of Mayor Corcoran, Mr. Flood is survived by his wife, Mary

Corcoran Flood; two daughters, Mrs. Frederick Sauter and Mrs. William Dudley; a son, Edward J. Flood, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. George Logan and Mrs. Martin Schulbaum, both of New York City; four grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

    Friends may call from 7 to 9 P.M. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
