    Children of John King and Elizabeth Town: Edmund, b. 18 Sep 1764, m. Polly Mellen. Edmund studied medicine, and after his marriage went to reside in Great Barrington, where he practiced but a short time, when he was afflicted with what was then known as king's evil [scrofula]. He returned to his father's, where he died Dec. 31, 1789.
