    EDITH MACENTEE HAYES Summitville, New York Edith MacEntee Hayes, a resident of Summitville, formerly of Ellenville, died Saturday, November 15, 2003 at Ellenville Regional Hospital. She was 81. Edith was the daughter of Elmer and Margaret DeGroodt MacEntee, and was born on July 30, 1922 in Walden. She was a member of the Ellenville Reformed Church, co-valedictorian and the only one of 13 children to graduate from high school. In 1960 she directed her daughter Charleen to college, the first of 82 cousins to go. She was a homemaker and taught home school. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Charles Hayes of Summitville; her son, Charles Hayes Jr., and his wife, Carol, of Ellenville; her daughter, Charleen Kavleski and her husband, Michael, of South Fallsburg; grandchildren, Katie and Ross; and generations of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers; and five sisters. Friends may call on Wednesday, November 19 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Loucks Funeral Home Inc., Route 209, Ellenville. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Jay Vogelaar will officiate. Burial will be in the Sullivan County Veterans Cemetery, Liberty. Arrangements by Loucks Funeral Home, Ellenville.
