Edith M. Sankey
WARREN - Edith M. Sankey, 89, 506 Bank St., Warren, Ohio, died at 11:50 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at the Community Skilled Health Care Center, Warren, Ohio.
Mrs. Sankey was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joseph Edward Kilpatrick and the late Hazel Pearl Clemmens.
She was a graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and a member of the Bazetta Christian Church. She was a member of SCOPE and and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
During World War II, she worked at the Cleveland Ordinance Plant as a civil servant.
She enjoyed tennis, roller skating, ice skating and reading. She retired from the environmental services department at St. Joseph Hospital in 1990.
She is survived by a son, Leslie Sankey of Highland, Mich.; two daughters, Hazel Byer and Genevieve Wagner, both of Warren, Ohio; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Leslie A. Sankey, a brother, Kenneth Kilpatrick, a stepson, Charles Sankey, and a great-grandchild, Corey Bishop, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003 at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Larry B. Sivis and the Rev. Michael Derico officiating. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery [Bristol].
