    Edith Jane Brace Smith, 88, of 2808 Olcott Road, Big Flats, N.Y. died Tuesday, May 21, 1985 at home. Born May 30, 1896 in Mansfield, Tioga County, Pa. she was the daughter of Harry and Lucy Tanner Brace. She was a dressmaker, tailor, milliner and taught church school in Elmira and Utica, N.Y. and Frederick, Maryland and was a member of the Corning, N.Y., Seventh-day Adventist Church. Surviving are : her husband of 68 years, Ed E. Smith; eight children, Walter W. Smith of Loma Linda, California, Margaret S. Hafner of Jordan, N.Y., Esther R. Stonier of Big Flats, N.Y., Glenn E. Smith of Decatur, Georgia, Cora E. Lainson of Salina, Kansas, Harold B. Smith of St. Paul, Minnesota, Paul G. Smith of Takoma Park, Maryland, James R. Smith of Arlexa, California; eight brothers and sisters, Glenn Brace of Mainesburg, DeEtte Cole of Sayre, Pa., Boyd Brace of Mainesburg, Frances Vosburg of Mansfield, Eloise Foster of Denver, Colorado, Winifred Tears of Mainesburg., Gordon Brace of Mainesburg, and Sterling Brace of Mansfield; 31 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Hills Funeral Home, Big Flats, N.Y. this Thursday, May 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. and this Friday, May 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 24 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with her sons officiating. Burial will be in Roseville Cemetery, Roseville, Pa.
