Travelling aboard the ship "British Crown" from Liverpool were Martha Jane Beaumont, age 38, occupation wife; Liz, age 17, spinster; Thomas age 13; Harriet age 11; Edgar age 8; and Lucy an infant. Number and names of passengers who died on the voyage says "Nil", but it is known that Harriet Beaumont contracted diphtheria and was buried at sea.
  8. Information found in Sioux City telephone books lists meat market "Beaumont and Booth" at 520 Pearl St. "Beaumont and Blagg" at 313 Fourth St. with his brother-in-law Francis M. Blagg. "Beaumont and Robinson in 1897 telephone directory with Harley P. Robinson. "Beaumont and Braunger Market Co" specializing in "Cash and Carry." Before this time, people always ordered their meats to be delivered and paid on credit, but Beaumont was able to reduce prices by offering this new cash and carry method. Another market was "Beaumont and Pyzer." At one point he also owned a laundromat, Star Laundromat.
