Ebenezer3 Smith, born at Wethersfield, 18 Mar. 1676/7, died at Middle Haddam, Conn., 10 Feb. 1752, aged 75 (gravestone); … Ebenezer was admitted [to the First Church, Middletown], 20 Sept. 1713 by letter from the church in Glastonbury. He was made Ensign of the company east of the Connecticut River in Middletown, 1717, and Captain of the same, 1723. He was deacon of the Middle Haddam (Haddam Neck) Church in Chatham (now East Hampton), Conn., 1740-52.
