↑ According to Pierce, p. 139, David was called the "only son" when he died in 1736. This qualifier did make it into the published VRs, but does appear in the town copy, p. 33. (In any event, no son Ebenezer is mentioned in his father's 1754 will, so he died without issue by then.) Chances are Ebenezer died young, or even as an infant.
