  7. Memory of Ruth Brickner: "Buddy did open his eyes briefly before death to look at his mother and say "it was not June's fault". I was eight when he was born, weighed 13.5 lbs. his hair was very reddish as a child.Pop's mother was a redhead. Born with a hole in his heart, and they said he would out grow it. He was a real cry baby when little. I felt he wasa little doll baby and loved to hold him. I was the only one that could get him to quit crying. They said it was because I was so little thatwhen I held him he was doubled over and that helped relieve his pain, where as adults would have him laying more flat when they held him and that was when he was in pain. This is what I was told anyways." NOTE: Ruth was born in 1911 and she would have been eight when her OTHER brother, BERYL, was born. So her recollection of Buddy is incorrect.
Ruth would have been 15 when Buddy was born
