Mrs. Drucilla Catharine Reever-Housel was born near Tarrytown, Frederick county, Maryland, on the 26th day of August, 1834, and departed this life February 6th, 1916, age 81 years, 5 months and 10 days. On April 19, 1864, she was united in marriage to Jared F. Housel, to this union was born one son, Elza E., with whom she resided at the time of her death. In the fall of the years 1843, she moved with her parents and one brother form Maryland to Butler township, Indiana, where she resided on the same farm until her death, making a period of 73 years on this farm. May 15, 1870, she with her husband united with the Protestant Methodist church at Hopewell under a series of meetings held by Rev. Lancaster and was a regular attendant as long as her health would permit, and remained true to her faith until the last. On the day before she passed away she said she was ready to go and was waiting. Her husband preceded her to the spirit world about eight years ago. She leaves to mourn their loss one son and six grandchildren, and a host to relatives and neighbors, but what is their loss is her eternal gain. The funeral services were conducted at Cedar Chapel Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. J. W. Gruber of Huntertown in charge and burial will be made in the Cedar Chapel cemetery.
