30 Sep 1790: Widow's dower "will not admit of a Division", settled on Eldest son Simon Whitney. Judge's decree 8 Oct 1790, he to pay surviving sisters & brothers; viz. Abigail, Joanna, Mary, Dorothy, & Lucy; Daniel, Joshua & Elisha; & to the surviving children of his brother Benjamin who is dead; & to each of the children of said Benjamin's son Henry who is dead, viz., Benjamin, Elizabeth & Henry; & to the children of his brother Israel deceased, viz. Israel, Jemima, Mary & Dorothy, & to the children of his sister Grace deceased, viz. Daniel, Thomas, Leonard & Grace.

Receipts given by Daniel Whitney [son-1799], Israel and Mary Whitney [grandchildren-1799], Abigail Town [daughter- 1792], Dorothy Coolidge [daughter-1799], Lucy Dana [daughter-1792], Elisha Whitney [1792], David Fairbanks for wife Jemima [granddaughter - 1792], Joshua Whitney [son - 1793], Stephen and Israel Cook [grandchildren - 1795] for their mother Joanna Cook's share, Josiah Warren for [daughter] Lucy Dana's share [1794], Sam'll Fisk Guardian of Israel Whitney & Dorthy Whitney [grandchildren - 1791], Mary Woodbridge [daughter - 1790]
[Since there is no marriage record, and since NEHGR, p. 11:227, says "dau. of Simon T. as pr. settlement of her dower 1789", it may be relevant that nothing, "errors excepted", was seen that connects her to Simon Tainter.]
