    Doris Jean Clinkinbeard, 84, of Nortonville, KS, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Nortonville United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Nortonville Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-6:00 PM, Saturday at the O'Trimble Funeral Home in Nortonville. Memorials are suggested to the Jefferson County Hospice or to Children's Mercy Hospital Oncology Department and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at www.beckerdyer.com. Jean was born August 6, 1928 in Wheaton, KS, the daughter of Thomas and Margaret (Walsh) Keating. She graduated from the Wheaton High School in 1946 and attended Kansas State University for her teaching certificate. For a brief time, Jean taught in a one room school house. She married Kenneth James Clinkinbeard, on August 2, 1946 in Atchison. Together, they owned and operated the Nortonville IGA for a number of years. Jean also worked for the O'Trimble Funeral Home. She was a member of the Nortonville United Methodist Church, Progressive Club, Nortonville Cemetery Board and Jefferson County Hospice where she had been a board member. She liked needle pointing, crocheting and cross stitching. Jean loved supporting all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities. Survivors include sons, Steve (Lori) Clinkinbeard; Jay Clinkinbeard, both of Topeka, KS; a daughter, Penny (Bryan) Warren, Omaha, NE; sisters, Margaret Mary (Hap) Johnson, Gladstone, MO; Ramona Skeen, St. Albans, WV; Virgie Plummer, Westmorland, KS; 5 grandchildren, Curt (Summer) Clinkinbeard; Jill (Bryce) Frederickson; Sean (Karrie) Clinkinbeard; Megan (Chris) Bechtold; Jamie Warren and her husband, Tom Ferrell and 11 great-grandchildren. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth and three brothers, Harold, Dick and Merle Keating.
