Donald Grant (b. 1744), a native of Inverness, Scotland, married Elizabeth Cumming, daughter of Duncan and Isabella Cumming of Tullochgorum *, Scotland, ca. 1770. They had six children; the first born in Inverness in 1771. The family immigrated to America in 1777 and settled near Catskill, New York.
