!Sources: b = PS38, A36, PR4:FamData; 1844 = MICR1860 bp = PR4, writing illegible; Ontario (PS12:MISTCR1894/#11B), see note; CAN (MICR1860) Cobourg, ONT, CAN (PS38); this in Northumberland County (HB39); Smiths Creek, MI, proven an error by PR4 (A36, PR4:DC52) PR4:DC52 informant was John Suter, Clara's husband PR4 w/PS57 and PS36; probably spelled phonetically, so this could be Cramahe in Northumberland County. It looks like "Crammy" with a dot over the "a" like it might have been an "i", followed by "Twp.". I wrote to Roger Reid, PS30h: (from the info I sent) "there is not much doubt he (Diogenes) was born in Cramahe Twp. ... pronounced Cram-ee with a short e." (parentheses mine) Note PS57:KSCR1900,1910; possibly family members didn't know birthplace F&M = PS38, A4, A21, PS1b:MICR1860; F = PR4:DC52 m1 = PR4:Div1 *** mp1 = Div1; county = HB38; div = 24 Dec 1880 (Div1,PR4:Div1) m2,mp2 = A36, PR4:FamData w/county from HB38; 15 Aug 1881 (PS38) m3 = PS38, A36, PR4:MR, listed as "Of Campus, KS" d = A36, PS38, PR4:DC52; dp = PR4:DC52, A36; at his daughter's home (A36) Winona, KS in error (PS38); Winona is in Logan County (HB38) bur = PS38, A36; Oakley Methodist Cemetery (PS57); PS57 personal visit showed that though Oakley is in Logan County, the cemetery is in Thomas County A6: Diogenes was in the 2 MI Cavalry and served 4 yrs. in Civil War, enlisted age 17, discharged in 1865 as corporal.
