Diana's brother Jeremiah Borst was the first white settler in the Snoqualmie Valley.[2] There are a handful of online trees that place them as children of William Borst and Nancy Brookout of Schoharie County, New York.

   "In 1876 Dinah Sour died intestate in King County. She was then the owner of the lands here in controversy; the same being her separate property.
