After a valiant fight against breast cancer, Denise Junge left us for a better place on Monday, May 8, 2006. She was born in Midland on January 11, 1967 to Donald and Nancy (Magee) Laughner. She graduated from Midland High School in 1985, and married Vincent E. Junge on September 11, 1986. She ran a home day care for many hears and proudly graduated from Delta College in 1997 with an Associate Degree/Medical Secretary. This was a very important goal for her and she continued to take classes while running her day care and raising two daughters. Denise worked at MidMichigan Urgent Care – from 2001 to just recently when her illness made it impossible for her to work. One of the significant highlights of her life was when she was given the opportunity to travel to Hawaii by her co-workers at Urgent Care and her husband's co-workers at Wild's Heating and Plumbing. Denise touched every life she encountered and will be missed greatly by her family and friends. She loved to read and loved camping with her family. She was a tireless worker and fought long and hard against her cancer. In 2001 she completed the 60 mile Avon 3 Day Breast Cancer Walk with her two sisters-in-law. She is survived by her husband, Vince; and two daughters, Heather of Midland, and Erika at home; her mother, Nancy Laughner-Sherwood (Robert) of Wisconsin; brothers, Dale (Tina) Laughner of Midland and Michael (Laura) Laughner of Sanford; brother-in-law, Kevin (Susan) Junge of Clare; nephew, Will Laughner; niece, Kayla Junge; and very best and long-time friend, Amy Roberts. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Nancy Junge of Midland; father-in-law, Virgil (Peggy) Junge of New Jersey; an aunt and uncle and many cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Donald L. Laughner in 1981.
