Information from Fay Clark, RootsWeb database: Will dated 25 February 1826 in Hickman County, Kentucky Title: Hickman County, Kentucky, Will Book 1 Author: Laura Willis Repository: Media: Book Page: 33-34 Text: Will of DAVID WOODS Sell all his stock, cattle & hogs for support & clothing of his minor children; David, Alexander, Lelitha & William. The balance to be equally divided among his nine children, viz; Jinny, Mary, Peggy, John, Henry, David, Alexander, Lelitha & William. Negroes to be valued by good disinterested men and son, John, gets Archer & his wife, Rachel (they are not to be parted); son, David gets Nelson; son, Alexander gets Major; said 2 sons get the tract of land whereon I now live equally divided. Rest of the negroes to be drawn for by his children, except Jinny & William. Jinny must have her equal share made up in money & son, William, gets tract of land in Obion County, Tn. All his children to receive equal division and that they all pay an equal proportion towards buying son, William, a small negro, something like David's & Alexander's. Negroes names to be drawn; Nell, Mary, Cherry & the youngest negro girl child not yet named, I give to my daughter, Lelitha. 4 minor children, viz; David, Alexander, Letitha & William to get the 4 beds & furniture. No chosing of the negroes until this insuing crop is made and then when the executors say. Executors: Son, John Woods & Ben Carr.
