In the fall of 1903, D. G. Scott, in company with his brother-in-law Frank Rash . . . came out to Idaho looking for land. Garrett Scott bought a 400 acre farm located on the east side of Long Valley about half way between present day Cascade and Donnelly, Idaho. It was near the old town of Center, which was located near Sugar Loaf, now an island in Cascade resrvoir. . . . Frank Rash secured a ranch nearby . . . . The two men returned home to Missouri and prepared to move out in the spring.
