    DAVID LYMAN6, Caleb5, Isaac4, Richard3, 1761-1849, b. in Lebanon, Conn., m. 1785, Submit Gould. At the age of sixteen he enlisted in the service of his country in the Revolutionary army, in which he continued six months, and then learned the trade of carpenter and wheelwright. In 1789, he removed with his wife and a young child from Lebanon to Norwich, Vt., with an ox team. In their new settlement they endured the hardships incident to pioneer life, living in a log cabin for several years, and then removing into their framed house, in December, before it had been enclosed with boards without, or duly finished within to protect them from the inclemency of the winter. Here, in frugal piety, they lived to a good old age...
