David and Thomas Eugene were twins. David is buried in the Reedsville Cemetery. He cared for his parents at home until he was almost thirty years of age. He was a clerk for this brother-in-law, B. F. Wolf in Reedsville for a time. He was a proprietor at the Reedsville Hotel and postmaster for the village of Reedsville for four years. He voted Democratic and attended the Baptist Church. He was said to have cast his first Presidential vote for General Hancock in 1880. (The History of West Virginia, Old and New, Volume II, Page 406)
