July 07, 2004 12:00 am(0) Signatures ONAWA, Iowa -- Darlene Marie Grandgenett, 73, of Onawa died Friday, July 2, 2004, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at First Christian Church in Onawa, with the Rev. Dennis Olsen officiating. Burial will be in Onawa Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service in Onawa.

Darlene was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Moorhead, Iowa, the daughter of Hiram and Edna (Steward) Campbell.

She married Harlan Grandgenett in 1947, in Dakota City. She received her nursing degree from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 1982. She worked in hospitals in Sioux City and Onawa. She also worked at Elmwood Care Centre in Onawa, Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa, and Embassy Tower Rehab and Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.

She was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include her husband, Harlan of Onawa; a son and his wife, Robert and Julie of La Pine, Ore.; five grandchildren, Robert Grandgenett and his wife, Heather of South Sioux City, Sheila and her husband, Jim Riley of Omaha, Lisa and her husband, David Parks of South Sioux City and Jess and Becky Grandgenett; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and their wives, Wayne and Mary Campbell of Rock Springs, Wyo., and Floyd and Jeannie Campbell of Omaha; and a sister and her husband, Elsie and Ben Grandgenett of Onawa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Gerald, Raymond, Leo and Kenneth; and a sister, Thelma.
