31 Jan 1708/9: Daniel Weld of Deerfield for £74 to Samuel Smead husbandman several parcels in Deerfield: one home lot with house about 4 1/2 acres; lot in harrow meadow about 16 acres; lot on Eagle Brook Plaine about 6 acres; lot in New fort Meadow about 5 acres; any other parcel in Deerfield any wise belonging to Daniel Weld.
[Note: To sell land, Daniel would need to be of age, 21, so born by 1687/88.]

  2. Source:Sheldon, George. History of Deerfield, Massachusetts, Vol. 2, p. 355, says Daniel was born 1680 with no explanation, and this seems to be repeated by various sources because no actual basis can be found. However, his marriage in 1712 only requires he be born in 1690 or before, and since he is known by his father's probate to be the son of last wife Mary Belden, he was apparently born after 1682 when the prior wife died. There is some additional discussion on the father's Talk page.
