Genealogies and Biographical Sketches of the Ancestry and Descendants of Richard Sears, the Pilgrim places a son Knyvet Sears in the family of Richard Sears, and identifies Richard and Daniel as his sons, adopted by his younger brother Paul. Source:May, Samuel Pearce. Descendants of Richard Sares (Sears) of Yarmouth, Mass., 1628-1888 points out there is no naming of Knyvet in Richard's will, that Paul is identified as the eldest even though Knyvet is still alive. Then Paul treats Richard and Daniel as natural sons in his will, so that any connection to Knyvet Sears seems improbable.
