    "Fam. 5. Rev. Daniel (Russell),3 (Rev. Noadiah,2 William,1), b. Midd., 1702, was educ. especially for the ministry; grad. Y. C. 14 Sept., 1724, prepared for his clerical duties under his bro. Rev. William, of Midd., and was soon invited to settle at Stepney parish (3d Soc. of Weth.), where he was ord. 7 June, 1727, as its first pastor; … He d. 16 Sept., 1764, in 62d yr., and the 37th of his ministry—and the tombstone erected by his faithful people in old Stepney graveyard reads 'Here lies interred the Remains of the Rev. Mr. Daniel Russell, who wisely and faithfully fulfilled his ministry for more than thirty-seven years, with a shining pattern of piety in his Christian and Ministerial character and fell asleep the 16th of Sept., A. D., 1764. Aged 62 yrs.' He left a fair est.—abt. £900, which was not distrib. until 1771; wid.'s dower was set out in 1766; his heirs were s. Nathaniel and dau. Mary. … The 8 acrs. deeded by the parish to Rev. Mr. Daniel, soon after his settlement (1727 or 28) is now owned and occup. by the wid. of one Jeremiah Murphy. These were 'the Russell acres,' which passed into the possess, of Esq. John by his marr. to Mary Russell."
